Just wanted to ask, I just accepted my first bid and sold a bottle of wine through the Marketplace. Now I find a pending $40 charge on my credit card from Vinfolio. I sort of recall when I was accepting the bid that there was going to be some "temporary" charge placed on my card for some security/verification process? I tried looking for this in more detail but could not find anything in the FAQ's or forum. Can someone here please clarify this issue?
Thanks. Joel |

Joel Joel, Thank you for your post and congratulations on your first Marketplace sale. In order to verify your identity we perform a one-time authorization of your credit card. This authorization will appear as a $40 pending charge (as you mention) but you will never actually be charged. You can find more details in our Terms. I've included an excerpt below. We continue to roll out enhancements and refinements to the Marketplace so please post feedback as you have it and let us know if you experience any issues. 4. Bid acceptance by Seller To accept a bid, Seller must meet several requirements: a. The full quantity accepted by Seller of the Auction Item must be satisfied from a single physical address location (or Vinfolio storage) within the United States (excluding MA). b. Seller must provide a credit card with at least one month remaining before expiration which shall be used for identity verification and for charges such as shipping or cancelled transaction fees (see Cancelled transactions by Seller). In particular, upon Seller’s first use of a particular credit card, such card must be successfully pre-authorized for $40 (not charged) upon bid acceptance to validate the Seller’s identity. By accepting a bid, Seller agrees to such pre-authorization process on first use of any particular credit card. c. Seller shall agree to meet specific obligations regarding confirming the condition, quantity, and identity of the Auction Items being sold. -------------------- Kristin Elmstrom

On a side note, how long does it usually take to complete a transaction. My first sale was dated October 11, it is still labeled processing. What are the average times in order for a sale to be finalized? Joel |

The time it takes to complete a transaction can vary based on it's original location and how large the inspection queue is when the sale is being processed.
We have committed to the following: - Sales from Vinfolio storage wines can take up to 5 business days (to pull, transfer, inspect, and replace into storage) - Sales of wine not stored at Vinfolio can take up to 4 weeks -------------------- Kristin Elmstrom
