#1.When I have multiple cases of the same wine, I've been unable to specify which case the consumed wine is removed from, and invariably the bottles are removed from the wrong case. What is the proper procedure for this?
#2.When trying to move wine from one case to another (to correct the issue created in #1) I am sometimes able to achieve this by selecting the view that shows the stored cases for a given wine, choosing the "display all bottles" option, and then input manually the desired case # and update. At other times however, although I can highlight the case #, the system won't let me input a different case number. What is the correct way to move bottles from one case to another? #3.Finally, in trying to move wine from one case to another, I somehow caused one of my cases to subdivide. Instead of showing 9 bottles in case 97, my display shows 8 bottles in case 97 on one line, and 1 bottle in case 97 on another. How do I get this unwanted split to reunite properly? As a final note, the cases I am trying to move bottles between are in the same location, so I don't believe this to be a problem. Thank you. |

Great questions. #1) Please see Forum posting http://www.vinfolio.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=158 which outlines the procedure for consuming wine at the bottle level which is what you'll need to do in order to consume only bottles associated with a particular case. #2) Navigate to the wine detail page by clicking the wine name link in any of the views. Under My Inventory, click the Edit link on the right side of the appropriate Inventory row. Click the Show as Individual Bottles button. This displays all bottles associated with this inventory position row. For each bottle that you'd like to update, click the 'Stored in a case' link and enter a case number (or click 'Get a new case #' to get the next unused case number) or if already stored in a case enter a new case number. Click the Update button. Is this the scenario that is only working for you intermittently? If so, please reply with particular wine names which don't seem to work and I can investigate in your cellar. #3) I am investigating this with engineering. I will update this posting as soon as I have more information. -------------------- Kristin Elmstrom

I will update this posting as soon as I have more information. Although we are unable to reproduce the issue, we have corrected the data related to #3 above. For some reason these bottles were split because one line was associated with a group = [blank] and one line was assoicated with a group = NULL in the database. Let me know if you remember making any changes to the Group field for any of these bottles. At any rate, you should now see one line per case in My Inventory. -------------------- Kristin Elmstrom
