Only produced in exceptional years. A complex field blend of Tinta Roriz (Tempranillo), Touriga Franca, Tinta Cao, Touriga Nacional and 'others'. Darkly elegant, with an inky purple hue. The nose hints at its powerful stature with its slightly stewed plum and blackberry aromatics. A hint of plum pudding and spicy earth in the first sip that develops into a sweet grip and graphite mineral and violet character. As it airs, you uncover a bacon and smoke edge that perfectly aligns to the dark, sappy fruit and rounded, chewy tannins. Needs some time in the cellar to fully express the insidious power that will eventually manifest itself.
