(from estate grown fruit with a mix of vine ages up to 30 years, raised in 75% new wood for 14 months and bottled at 14.4%) Here the nose is slightly more elegant than the Russian River with less obviously ripe red berry fruit aromas that carry a mixed cran-raspberry note that is also picked up by the rich, full and nicely rounded flavors that don't have the same depth or intensity but slightly better overall balance, particularly in terms of the presence of finishing warmth. A qualitative choice though I personally prefer the Carneros as the balance wins over the greater intensity and complexity.

Lush polished nose of blueberry, anise pod, black cherry, violet and cigar box aromatics. The palate is juicy and rich with supple, blackberry ripeness and nicely formed blueberry on the finish.
