($24) Light yellow. Expansive bouquet comprises tangerine, lime, anise and talc-y minerals. Clean, focused citrus flavors display impressive clarity and are lifted by zesty, peppery minerality. Finishes youthfully firm and dry, with very good length. (Grapes of Spain, Lorton, VA)

Snappy, lively nose of grapefruit and lime spritz with an intrusion of citrus blossom & fresh basil. Crisp and clean on the palate and the entry of casaba melon is accented with a bright acidity and touch of sea mist. Textbook albarino with a lean, minerl finish and a roundness of white peach. Perfect aperitif and shellfish companion, as well as lightly spiced cuisine.

Pale yellow, with lemon, honeyed pear, and a whiff of Smarties candy from Halloweens of ages past on the nose, this Spanish wine, a bit past its prime, still offered a palate full of lemon bars and white pepper. I recall this wine being more complex a year ago, when it probably should have been drunk; if you have some, don't let it sit any longer!
