($90; disgorged February 22, 2007) Bright straw. Spiced pear and quince aromas are underscored by dusty minerality and citrus zest. Intense citrus and orchard fruit flavors offer serious depth and cut, with a crackling mineral quality extending through the finish. I love the clarity here. From 50-year-old vines at Oger they have made a wine with good attack, relatively deep, almond-like fruitiness and quite a lot of excitingly spicy overtones. Should however be much more impressive than it is.
