This is carrying touches of pain grillé and vanilla that work with the pretty and superbly elegant white flower, honeysuckle and acacia blossom aromas that are in perfect keeping with the intense and mineral-driven flavors that are focused, harmonious and mouth coating while offering tremendous drive on the wonderfully long finish. I like the purity of expression here and while the nose is a bit toasty at the moment, this should be absorbed in time.

($82) Very ripe aromas of nectarine, peach pit and hazelnut. Rich and very ripe but backward, with dense, smooth flavors of peach, minerals and powdered stone. The impression of full ripeness continues on the very long, almost pineappley finish. The highest in alcohol of these 2005s along with the Montrachet, at 14.2%.
