Bodega Numanthia Termes, S.L. (an estate owned by Dominio Eugren) produces super-premium wines such as Termanthia, Numanthia and Termes. The company has 40 hectares of vineyards. ($28) Dark ruby. Ripe cherry and plum aromas are complicated by espresso and dark chocolate. Powerful, densely packed dark berry flavors are distinctly ripe, with chewy tannins adding structure. And yet this is surprisingly light on its feet, finishing with gentle acid lift and brighter red berry character. Not a blockbuster by any stretch.

Dark purple and completely opaque. This bottle was a closed compared to last year. Some of the nutty, black fruit showed after an hour or so. Impressively smooth considering the weight.

Great wine for the price. Nice concentration; inky quality; somewhat austere flavors; could maybe use a little more time for more complete oak integration.
