Producer Notes
Daniel Barraud is a genius when it comes to making beautifully structured wines from the village of Vergisson. Vergisson is an appellation that is replete with poor soil, old vines and mineral-laden rocks. The power of this favorable terroir is translated into wines of impeccable pedigree and comportment that will please in the present and reward in the future.

(from 70+ year old vines located in Vergisson) There is a bit more wood in evidence at present with brioche that set off a very ripe nose of peach, dried herb and straw plus background notes of muscat that give way to opulent and exceptionally rich flavors that retain a fine sense of balance and elegance as the mineral and citrus-infused finish is really quite firm, indeed to the point where there is a chewy character. This is more stylish and sophisticated than the En France if not as powerful and I very much like the delineation here.
