(a new premier cru as of the '99 vintage) While it is a subtle step up, this too rises above the former wine in overall elegance and aromatic complexity and while the flavor profile is not precise, this stains and completely coats the palate with pinot extract. In fact, this just oozes extract yet the finish is rather like dry port as it's extremely ripe but not heavy. Again, a wine of quality but not necessarily typicity.

Good medium red, a bit less bright at the rim than the Damodes. Lower-toned aromas of smoke and meat, with a minerally nuance. Fat and smooth in the middle, but with less verve than the Damodes. Notes of game and leather. This is more typical Nuits-Saint-Georges, and more 2003 in style. Finishes with big, ripe tannins.
