Smoky, deeply pitched aroma of toasted almond. Full and sweet, with impressive fruit and inner-mouth perfume. Minerally, firm and bright, but a bit more fiery than the 30-year-old version from Fonseca.

This shows more evolution than the two younger Tawny Ports with an orange-pink hue and a wide golden/amber rim. Mmmm, cinnamon spice and toffee present a sweet profile with a hint of almond paste. Medium-bodied and possibly less full than the 20 year old and certainly less nutty on the palate. There is a sweet yet smoky flavor that I can’t identify. It delivers a smooth and long finish but for a 30 year old, lacks the complexity that would really make this something special. Still, a very nice Tawny.

A pungent nose, more sherry like with saline notes that add to the caramel, flowers and orange zest, some notes of maple, full bodied, huge finish.
