Rather shy nut skin aroma. Powerful and penetrating, but the nut skin flavor is dryer than the 10-year-old. More concentrated but doesn't really come alive in the mouth. Best today on the strong finish. I've had better luck with this bottling in the past.

For The Love of Port

More orange to the center but with a touch of light ruby and a bit more bricking than the 10 year old. Fuller bodied than the 10 year old and a lot smoother and possessing a more rounded texture. Actually, the texture of this wine is one of its significant strengths and is complemented by the sweet hazelnut and caramelized sugar flavors. But I keep digging that graceful mouthfeel, which is velvety and sensuous. The aftertaste is refreshing and lingers long after swallowing.

I'm normally a fan of Vintage and LBV ports but thought I'd try this Tawny. I pick up fig notes especially compared to a LBV port. Has a slightly golden hue and an assertive sweetness. All in all, not my preference in a port but certainly decent.
