International Wine Cellar | 95+

(production of just 32 hectoliters per hectare in 2012): Pale yellow. Powerful aromas of lime, quinine, crushed rock and iodine. Silky on entry, then dense and penetrating in the middle, displaying terrific limey lift and saline thrust to the flavors of citrus peel, crushed rock, elderflower and white pepper. Most promising today on the echoing, building, palate-staining finish, with strong acidity (more than 4.5 grams per liter, according to Seguier) drawing out the wine's fruit. A knockout--and still an infant.

About This Producer

The Fevre family has been an integral part of the Chablis landscape for upwards of 250 years. Since the beginning, though, they have been adamant about protecting and promoting the typicity of Chablis, whose whites draw a unique and well-defined line in the sand when it comes to mineral-laden French Chardonnay. The grand crus from this estate represent the pinnacle of purity and intensity of world-class Chardonnay from France and are characterized by superb delineations of acidity, mineral, crystalline fruit and delicate floral nuance.
