Peter Michael's 2011 Chardonnay Belle-Cote stands out for its big, broad-shouldered frame. Orange blossoms, honey, wild flowers, mint and sage all take shape in the glass. A decidedly savory Chardonnay, the 2011 impresses for its complexity. Intensely aromatic notes reappear on the finish. In 2011, there is no Cuvee Indigene; all the best barrels went into the Belle-Cote. A fascinating, complex wine, the 2011 will be a lot of fun to follow over the coming years.
