International Wine Cellar
Author: Josh Raynolds
Issue: Issue 168
Bright ruby. Smoke- and spice-accented aromas of red and dark berries, with subtle herb and floral notes gaining strength with aeration. Juicy, plump and broad, offering intense raspberry and blackberry flavors that show impressive freshness and clarity. The sweet, subtly tannic finish clings nicely, leaving star anise and candied rose notes behind.

From a cool climate, the 2011 Pinot Noir Biondi Home Ranch is fashioned from Dijon clones 777, 115 and 667. It exhibits pomegranate, red cherry and bouquet garni notes along with some meaty, beefy characteristics on the palate. Medium-bodied, long and fully mature, it should drink nicely for 3-4 years.
