(15.3% alcohol): Bright medium ruby. Knockout nose combines blackberry, mocha, gunflint, smoke and clove. At once juicy and silky, with mellow plum and mocha flavors complemented by smoky minerality. Not exotic or overly sweet. Finishes a bit warm but long, with smooth tannins giving the wine a firm underpinning.

The 2010 Bramare Malbec Marchiori Vineyard from Perdriel was also aged for 18 months in French and American oak (70% new). It has a very composed, mineral-rich bouquet with intense black cherry and blueberry fruit mingling with crushed violets and orange zest. The palate is full-bodied, with succulent ripe tannins that are very harmonious. This is very well-controlled, with lovely, sweet, ripe dark cherries, spice and citrus lemon on the spicy finish. This is one of the best Bramare releases. Drink 2014-2025.

Rich, dense and compact, offering jammy layers of plum sauce,
grilled fig and cassis framed by silky tannins. The long, cream-
tinged finish turns out dark hints of tar, mocha and spice box.
