(just 10% new oak): Bright yellow-green. Cool, youthfully medicinal aromas of lime, mint and menthol. Dense, refreshing and bone-dry (just 0.5 grams per liter, according to Ric Forman), with captivating minty lift to the flavors of lime zest, menthol and mineral dust. Almost metallic in a Chablis-like way. This bracing chardonnay should be fascinating to follow over the next decade.

About This Producer

Ric Forman, a legend on the Napa wine scene with his integral role in developing the vineyards of Newton and the great Cabernets of Sterling, established his own brand with a debut 1983 vintage. This first wine exceeded anyone's expectations, and Ric has maintained consistent high rankings for his age-worthy Cabernet and Chardonnay, wines of "finesse" and "elegance." Forman also produces a second label called Chateau la Grande Roche.
