The 2009 Pinot Noir Santa Lucia Highlands shows lovely focus in its vibrant red fruit, flowers, spices and licorice. The fruit retains gorgeous energy all the way through to the finish. Mint and floral notes reappear on the close. This is a fabulous wine for the money. The Santa Lucia Highlands bottling is made from three parcels; Garys' (55%), Rosella's (35%) and Pisoni (10%), and was aged in 35% new oak barrels.
