More Vintages and Sizes of Meo-Camuzet - Nuits St Georges Aux Murgers 1er Cru:
Photo of actual year not available
Author: Allen Meadows
A ripe, fresh and much more sauvage and classic Nuits nose of humus, earth and dark berry fruits that precedes rich, intense and rather suave medium-bodied flavors blessed with ample amounts of dry extract that smooth out the ever-so-slightly rustic and very firm tannins on the gorgeously long finish. This should age very well as the balance is spot on.

($203) Good deep red with ruby highlights. Very dark aromas of black cherry, blackberry, bitter chocolate and earth. Broad but a bit youthfully tough, offering less easy sweetness today than the Boudots. Finishes with substantial building dusty tannins and noteworthy power. This may well need six or seven years of bottle aging, while the more Vosne-like Boudots will probably be delicious in four or five years.

This rich red is saturated with black cherry, blackberry, licorice and
mineral aromas and flavors. Its texture is supple, yet there's plenty
of grip, and the concentrated fruit flavors pulse through the resonant
finish. Fresh and harmonious.
