Good full ruby. Blueberry, graphite and violet on the nose. Sweet, dense and powerful but nicely lifted by a floral element. Tactile, saline wine with sweet fruit framed by harmonious, racy acidity. Finishes long and firmly tannic, at once pliant and gripping. A very good vintage for this bottling.

The 2009 Cabernet Sauvignon Cimarossa Vineyard is a gorgeous, fleshy wine graced with expressive dark red fruit, anise, licorice and menthol. Silky tannins frame the supple finish. Today the Cimarossa comes across as delicate and feminine in personality.

A deliciously complex, intriguing, exciting expression of Cabernet. Firm where it should be, with a subtle mix of acidity and tannins. Generous and layered with spicy berry flavors that sail on and on.

Shows a very pretty nose with some blackberry, herb and sandalwood, dense and lively on the palate, showing spicy black fruit - lovely stuff.

Excellent cab which opened up within 30 minutes. Menthol on the nose with undertones of loamy earth, mushroom, and bit of ripe cherries. I was extremely pleased with this wine and can't wait to see how it ages.

About This Producer

Former Beringer Executive Tor Kenward launched his brand in the early 2000s and soon tapped Jeff Ames, the German-born, Memphis-raised protege of Thomas Brown to be his winemaker. Concentrating on red Rhone varieties (bottled under his Rock label) as well as Cabernet Sauvignon and Chardonnay (under TOR) from single vineyard sites, the wines have swiftly gained critically high acclaim. Production for any one wine rarely exceeds 200 cases.
