(87% cabernet sauvignon, 8% cabernet franc and 5% merlot): Good bright ruby-red. Vibrant aromas of crushed cassis, ripe redcurrant, licorice, bitter chocolate, tobacco and spearmint. Smooth and impressively concentrated, with a hint of medicinal austerity to the flavors of black fruits, violet, bitter chocolate and menthol. Penetrating, gripping wine with great flavor intensity. Powerfully structured too, finishing with firm tannins and outstanding, slowly building, juicy length. The pH here is 3.8, according to estate manager Armand de Maigret, but the wine boasts outstanding lift.

Billy the Kid
Ultra exotic on the nose, super jammy, with blueberries and sweet under tones. If it was blind i think it would be a Petrus 1982. This could be one of the best CA wines I have tried. You would think it would be too young (like killing babies) but you would be wrong. This is an amazing wine and is drinking now but on the palate it has the density, numerous layers, structure and an incredible finish (like 60 plus sec) to age way beyond what you would think. In fact, on second thoughts, it reminds me more of a great Margaux (especially the sweet red rose like undertones) that can drink very young and age with grace. A remarkable wine. Bravo!
