More Vintages and Sizes of Peter Michael - Pinot Noir Le Caprice:
International Wine Cellar
Author: Josh Raynolds
Issue: Issue 156
Bright ruby. Higher in pitch than the Moulin Rouge, displaying wild strawberry and raspberry along with a sexy floral nuance and an exotic note of nectarine. Shows darker berry fruit and cherry in the mouth, picking up notes of licorice and candied flowers with air. Deeply fruity but energetic pinot with excellent finishing clarity and persistent spiciness.

The stunning 2009 Pinot Noir Le Caprice offers up scents of spring flowers, dark raspberries, jammy strawberries and forest floor reminiscent of a Cotes de Nuits grand cru. This pure, medium to full-bodied Pinot exhibits gamy, rich, plum-like notes as well as an expansive, savory mouthfeel. It should be complex and evolved when released and drink well for 7-10 years.

Well-structured, with a core of pure, ripe plum and blackberry fruit that's fleshy, supple and medium- to full-bodied. This is deeply concentrated and firms up nicely on the finish, where a touch of fresh earth folds in.
