The 2009 Metisse La Mekerra Vineyard (60% Cabernet Franc and 40% Merlot - sounds like St.-Emilion's Cheval Blanc) continues to showcase this hillside vineyard that sits at a 2,300 foot elevation. Deep ruby/purple-hued with lots of black currant, tobacco leaf, plum and crushed rock characteristics, it is an expansive, savory, delicious wine that should be a real crowd-pleaser when released in a year or so.
