International Wine Cellar Author: Josh Raynolds Issue: Issue 153

($80) Saturated ruby. Deep, pungent aromas of black raspberry, cherry pie, vanillin oak and smoky Indian spices. Sappy, palate-coating cherry and dark berry compote flavors show an exotic floral pastille quality and hints of clove and mocha. A distinctly rich, fleshy pinot that will aggravate Burgundy purists, but this wine makes quite a statement.

Big, fleshy pinot. Heavy weight on the mouth, rich tannins, and strong oak. Wine took a while to open up, definitely one to decant if consumed young. Rich dark fruits, blackberry, nice spice. Definitely needs a couple of years to mature.
