The Perrot Minot 2008 Gevrey-Chambertin Vieilles Vignes features lightly-cooked dark cherry and blackberry accompanied by smoked meat. Richly-ripe and plush, with a hint of mocha, this retains enough of a tart fruit skin edge and bitterness of fruit pit to lend a satisfying sense of counterpoint and refreshment. I would plan to give this a couple of years in bottle and enjoy it at up to 6-8 years out.

Faint mustiness on the nose. Nicely balanced tannins and tart fruit; blackberry and cranberry. Light bodied, pairs well with food. Drinks well now, will be even better with some time in the bottle. 2012-2015.

Ripe nose with a touch of that typical Gevrey funk. Tart cranberry fruit leads on to a nice finish that would complement some food. A nice wine as expected from this great Domaine.

First nose of cola nut, smoke, earth and red currant, forest strawberries and a hint of tart cherry. Palate is lean with easy tannin and notes of cherry and earth. Good acidity so best with food - pate or rillettes.

A light, airy, feminine and transparent wine. Cranberries, cherries, and roses delight, make this wine a nice sipper for the night. Because there was a touch of green flavor in the beginning, I didn't care for it, but once some air got into it, the more it opened up and the more I began to like it. A nice red wine to start the evening with in place of your normal white quaffer.

Pure red pinot fruits on the nose - sweet strawberries and red cherries, a little dusty oak. Fruit follows through on the palate, freshened up by medium acidity and tightened up by fine, slightly chalky tannins. Finishes short, but this is a pretty villages Burgundy that checks all the boxes - including "enjoy with food" that is light and subtle in flavor.
