(15.2% alcohol): Good full ruby-red. Musky aromas of crushed dark berries, black cherry, licorice and chocolate. Creamy and seamless on the palate, with an almost port-like quality to the black cherry and dark chocolate liqueur flavors. Immediately accessible owing to its lushness and sweetness but showed a rather cloying cough medicine quality as it opened in the mouth. Finishes with building dusty tannins and a note of toffee.

Open fruit, rich, lush and layered, serving up a complex mix of plum, blackberry, black licorice and spices. Full-bodied and supple-textured, ending with a long, persistent finish that keeps repeating the core flavor themes.

This is one of my favorite California Cabs. It's big and full bodied, with blackberries & plums. Has an extremely long finish. Definitely not as smooth and silky as their Special Selections, but a fine wine. The 2007 is better but this is an excellent wine.

Needed very little decanting. Both bottles were ruby red in color, very aromatic, taste of sweet dark cherries & berries, dusty tannins, high alcohol content but no heat. Smooth & creamy. Would have liked a little more grip, but it was truly pleasurable drinking.
