(51% cabernet sauvignon, 25% merlot, 16% cabernet franc and 8% petit verdot): Ruby-red. Blackberry, licorice and bitter chocolate aromas are lifted by a violet topnote. Juicy, tight and dry; not a fleshy style but vibrant and rather suave, displaying some very ripe plummy notes with aeration.

The 2008 Endre (a similar blend with slightly less Cabernet Sauvignon) reveals an elegant nose of licorice, white chocolate, espresso, herbs, black currants and blackberries, soft, silky tannins and abundant fruit. It is ideal for drinking during its first decade of life.

This complex, easy-drinking mix of ripe cherry, plum and raspberry flavors leads to a medium body, showing fleshy tannins and good depth, ending with red and black licorice notes. Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot.

Started out at the same place as the other red varietals and receives roughly the same barrel regimen but don't make the cut for the cuvee. Has a spicy mint nose with red raspberry and polished floral notes. The palate has nice focus with velvet-like mid palate weight and complexity.

Great mouthfeel, smooth. some complexity but prominent tannins emerge that are fine but substantial and dominate the fine, delicate fruit - wait 1 - 1.5 years for next - 91

Elegant and spicy with great balance. Sweet, chocolatey-rich wine with sweet cassis fruit, notions of smoke and herbs, supple tannin, and low acidity. Long smooth finish and silky mouthfeel. Excellent value!

Big, dry, muscular wine, assertive in tannins. Muscular and intense, it should provide great drinking for many years. A very great expression of its vineyard, which is basically the old Beringer State Lane Vineyard. Inky dark with layers of flavor that unwind in seemless procession with an incredible silky mouthfeel. More tannic than the '07, should be cellerable for a long time. Bouquet of cherry, mushrooms, loam, currants, and sweet spices. On the palate, same red fruits and spices are abundant, with mineral-driven blackberry and black currant flavors. . Great mouthfeel and body, almost a bit chewy.

Decanted for 5 hours before drinking. An amazing wine for a second label from Kapcsandy. Deep ruby6 red with a wonderful nose of huge red berries, cassis and earth. Smooth silky tannins with a long wonderful finish. Will definitely purchase again. Was originally annoyed that i had to purchase to buy Estate Lane wine. Happy now, wonderful wine at a reasonable price point.

About This Producer

The historic State Lane Vineyard, in the heart of the Napa Valley, was first leased by Beringer Estates in 1972 and was used to launch Beringer's famous Private Reserve Cabernet. The Kapcsandys purchased the property in May, 2000 and in 2001 teamed up with legendary winemaker Helen Turley and her viticulturist husband John Wetlaufer. After careful research, they discovered a unique vineyard with multiple micro-geological conditions and decided to redevelop the vineyard for its utmost potential and produce world-class red wines under the Kapcsandy label. The first two vintages - 2003 and 2004 - were produced by Helen Turley. For 2005 Rob Lawson, the winemaker at Napa Wine Company for the past 16 years, was brought aboard and in 2007, Denis Malbec became the sole winemaking consultant.
