($54) Full red. Complex, heady aromas of black raspberry, mocha, incense, smoky minerals and dried flowers. Rich and lush on entry, then sappy and juicy in the middle, with terrific mineral and floral lift to its sweet dark berry and spicecake flavors. Finishes sweetly perfumed and very long, with thoroughly buffered tannins and a whiplash of candied flowers.

Deep red to purple in my glass. We detected a pleasing aroma of berry, horse manure and cherry cough syrup. Don't let these descriptions put you off. It was a great smell. This was a sleek, medium bodied jewel with raspberry, cherry, some mineral, pepper and earthy notes at the finish.

Williams-Selyem do it again with a truly excellent pinot. Ripe raspberries on the bouquet complemented by cherries and a hint of pie crust on the palate. Sinfully delicious!
