More Vintages and Sizes of Turley - Zinfandel Rattlesnake Ridge:
International Wine Cellar
Author: Stephen Tanzer
Issue: Issue 150
($40; 15.8% alcohol) Good ruby-red. Liqueur-like aromas of kirsch and chocolate-covered raisin. Big, broad and rich but not overly sweet, showing a porty aspect and less energy than the Zampatti. This chocolatey and rather alcoholic zinfandel could use more definition and personality.

The brilliant dark ruby/plum-colored 2008 Zinfandel Rattlesnake Ridge exhibits lots of blueberry, blackberry, and forest floor notes, but the blue fruit spectrum of aromas and flavors dominate. Full-bodied with sweet tannin and a layered, textured mouthfeel, it should drink well for a decade.
