($90) Deep medium red color. Initially a bit mute on the nose, but showed increasingly sappy aromas of black plum, bitter chocolate, mint and spices with air. Sweet, dense and thick, with a solid core of spicy blackberry flavor. A fruit bomb of a pinot with excellent breadth and verve. The small berries in 2007 yielded barely two tons per acre of fruit. Longer and more satisfying than the 2006 version.

The 2007 Pinot Noir benefits from serious aeration. Initially, it seems closed, but with coaxing, attractive pomegranate, black cherry, wild strawberry, and rhubarb-like fruit aromas jump from the glass of this dark ruby-hued Pinot. Medium-bodied with tart acids, good freshness, and an elegant finish, it is an excellent wine, but it just lacks a bit of complexity and depth.

Deliciously ripe, smooth and supple-textured, with rich layers of black cherry, blackberry, plum, spicy floral and anise scents. Firm and concentrated, yet elegant and refined, delivering the flavors on a tight beam.
