($45) Good deep red-ruby. Slightly roasted aromas of black raspberry, tobacco, licorice and dark chocolate. Suave on entry, then a bit disjointed in the middle palate, with an edge of acidity to the black raspberry, redcurrant and mocha flavors. Slightly dry tannins. There's solid density here but the wine needs a year or two to harmonize.

The 2007 Napanook (a 3,600-case blend dominated by Cabernet Sauvignon and the balance Cabernet Franc) exhibits the Bordeaux style that proprietor Christian Moueix has fashioned from this legendary vineyard in Yountville. Its deep plum/ruby color is accompanied by sweet aromas of cedar, black currants, cherries, spice box, and earth. Lush, fleshy, elegant, and pure, it should drink nicely for 15+ years.

Better than I expected as I had heard from a few friends that this wine was so-so. I love Dominus so I wanted to try this wine. Not sure I'd buy it regularly but I was not disappointed as it had hints of big brother. I think it will be better with a little age.

Dark berries, medium bodied with smooth tannins. A good wine but not as good as their 2006.

Too young. Should have waited a few years.
