The 2007 Cabernet Sauvignon Pritchard Hill boasts glorious notes of flowers, blueberries, blackberries, boysenberries, plums and incense. Full-bodied and layered with tremendous depth as well as purity and that nobility of great Cabernet Sauvignon that very few regions in the world can achieve, this youngster, although approachable and seductive now, should evolve for 25-30 more years. Statisticians may be interested in knowing that the Signature is a blend of 76% Cabernet Sauvignon, 18% Malbec, 4% Petit Verdot, 1% Merlot and 1% Cabernet Franc. The Pritchard Hill is composed of 77% Cabernet Sauvignon, 12% Petit Verdot, 8% Malbec, 2% Merlot and 1% Cabernet Franc.

Sleek, rich and intense, this beautifully balanced red offers a complex mix of black currant and black cherry, red and black licorice. Firm, focused, expansive and layered, ending with classic Bordeaux-like cedar, tobacco and cigar box notes. Drink now through 2020. 1,684 cases made.

A decent Cab from Pritchard Hill but a notable winery but far from the most extraordinary of the great 2007 vintage. Quite drinkable, and clearly ready now, unlikely to be long lived. Nice fruit, casis, and a bit rustic.

Good wine. Initially great fruit, firm body and a nice touch of cedar on the finish. A strange drop off after a little air - a little disappointing a couple hours after it was opened.
