Good medium red. Nuanced nose offers cherry, tobacco, spices and humus. Suave, supple and fine-grained, with enticing sweetness enlivened by lovely floral lift. The sweetly tannic finish mounts slowly and lingers with noteworthy subtlety. These organically farmed vines are worked with a horse.

The Commune of Aloxe-Corton has the unusual distinction of having over half its area covered in grand cru vineyards. The Corton grands crus are situated on the famous Rognon de Corton. They have an exposure ranging from east to south and southwest. Les Grèves, in Aloxe-Corton, is situated in the centre of the commune midway up the south-easterly exposed part of the slope. In 1995, Domaine Louis Jadot purchased 0.44ha of the total Les Grèves 2.32ha.Cool and finely spiced. Wonderful finesse even at this restrained point in its evolution. Very smooth already. (JH)
