Ruby-red. Energetic aromas of black raspberry, blood orange, candied rose and minerals. Vivid, impressively focused red and dark berry flavors are complicated by an exotic floral pastille quality. The silky tannins add support and gentle grip to the long, subtly sweet finish.

This very tight Pinot is dense, concentrated and focused on pure, ripe, layered plum and raspberry fruit. Impressive showing.

A great pinot! Ultra-rich cherries, spices and red fruits made this a very memorable wine!

Opened and decanted for forty five minutes. Initial nose of vanilla and drunken cherries. On the palate there is plum, dark cherry and blueberry with spice and taostiness pushing it toward a clean, round darke, spiced cherry finish. The alcohol is a little high and gets in the way of some of the flavors. Hour two and the wine is bigger and has rounded out yet still light on its feet. Hour three is just rich and supple with a little fuzzy apricot showing on the nose. A nice wine to spoil yourself with and an excellent foil the the '07 Chasseur Rayhill we had with it.

I was pleasantly surprised...still young, but impressive. Bright cherry, robust tannins which need time to soften up, great acidity...while high in alcohol, the wine is balanced. The nose was beautiful...I hadn't even poured the first glass and the bouquet began escaping the bottle like an intoxicating perfume. I may just keep my last two bottles instead of selling them. :)

About This Producer

Kosta-Browne started its supersonic trek to celebrity status in 1997, when pals Dan Kosta and Michael Browne pooled their restaurant tips and purchased a half ton of Pinot Noir, a manual crusher-de-stemmer and a used barrel. Adding the business and investment-savy Chris Costello gave Kosta Browne the requisite resources to expand into the Pinot force they are today. Fruit is sourced from top-notch vineyards in the Russian River, Sonoma Coast, and Santa Lucia Highlands. Their philosophy is to make Pinots that express intense flavor and the "sweet spot" of their respective vineyards. In addition to their vineyard-designate wines, Kosta Browne also produces two blends: one from the Sonoma Coast and the other from Russian River.
