More Vintages and Sizes of Tua Rita - Giusto di Notri:
Author: Antonio Galloni
The estate's 2006 Giusto di Notri is another weighty, powerful offering bursting with tons of primary fruit. Sweet herbs, cassis and graphite swirl around in the glass, adding further complexity. Like the other wines in this line-up, the Giusto di Notri needs time to reach the full range of its potential, but it is awfully impressive even at this early stage.

Offers black licorice and currant, with hints of vanilla. Full-bodied, with chewy tannins and a solid core of ripe fruit. This is big and juicy, but tight and powerful. Needs time. Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot.

This is a fabulous wine and further proof of what coastal Tuscany can offer. Bursting with fruit but still so primary. Sweet tannins with oak lending vanilla and also milk chocolate. Ripe black cherries dominate and a finish that goes on and on beautifully paired with bacon-wrapped prunes and veal scallopini in tomato ragu. It's best years are ahead. Stockpile this. It's phenomenal. My mouth waters just recalling it.

Dark Crimson, almost blackcurrant colour, opaque. Medium strength flavour, cassis jam notes and flowers note on the nose. Full-bodied, medium length, a lot of aromatic complexity (herbs?), tannins are already soft. New world like?
