Very dark, inky purple. Almost black. Full bodied. Terrific Shiraz. Aromas and flavors of currant, earth and spices. You can chew onthis wine as it is very thick. Surprisingly not as tannic as expected. Uber-concentrated. Felt like we rushed it a bit. Heady. High alcohol. Yummy

The most open of the wines in the vertical. It opens with the nose soaring from the glass -- ripe blackberries, blueberries, and toasty oak. The body was recently balanced -- more deeply ripe blackberries, sweet plum, raspberry, and a hint of sweet fig. The finish was perfectly balanced with sweet tannins and a hint of acidity complementing each other. The final taste went on for over 45+ seconds. My WOTN but number 3 WOTN for the group.
