Medium red. Red berries, musky oak and a whiff of flowers on the nose. Silky, lively and sweet; not at all a blockbuster but shows a lovely fine-grained texture and good vinosity to its flavors of berries, flowers and graphite. Not the last word in concentration or length, but this juicy midweight is attractive and nicely understated.

The 2006 Brunello di Montalcino marks a significant change of direction from past vintages. The dark, heavy style has been replaced by a much more finessed, elegant expression of fruit. Sweet red cherries, crushed flowers, mint and licorice are woven together beautifully in this silky, multi-dimensional, graceful Brunello. Sweet notes from the oak are intermingled with floral overtones on the silky finish. The 2006 is the most interesting wine I have tasted from Fanti in quite a few years. Anticipated maturity: 2014-2024.

A dose of new oak lends vanilla and clove aromas and flavors, along with cherry and blackberry. There's a brightness to this red, and the tannins are well-integrated, despite being firm and dense. Fine length. Best from 2013 through 2025.

Plenty of plum jam aromas and flavors with lots of citrus fruit and chocolate character. Full body, soft and fresh. I like the juicy finish.

This is really nice, especially when you consider the price. Lighter styled wine with floral aromatics, that is full of red fruits, strawberries in particular. This has a great acid structure that will complement food. A traditional Brunello made in a clean style. Overall, this is very pleasurable right now.
