($60) Good medium ruby. Superripe aromas of roasted raspberry, blueberry and smoked meat. Juicy but youthfully subdued in the mouth, with flavors of dark raspberry, smoked meat, chocolate and celery seed. I don't find a lot of lift today, but the firmly tannic finish displays good grip.

Unbelievable - although I think this may be going back to sleep right now. I believe it was more open and approachable last time (6 months ago)...
Had with a simple grilled chicken dinner along with veggies.
Dark and brooding fruit - cherries with toasted apple pie. Rich mouth but jut a bit more dry than I remember last time. The supple leather is being replaced with a bit more dry characteristics - which works for this wine.
I think it would have opened more if I'd have been a bit more patient and given it an extra hour...but I couldn't. It's that good!
