Reviews For This Wine

International Wine Cellar | 88

($36) Bright medium yellow. Aromas of lemon drop, hazelnut and minerals. Honeyed and full on the palate, with an exotic character to the pineapple and plum flavors. Offers good acidity for all its ripeness.

For starters, it is hard to find a better white than the 2006 Chardonnay Napa. A light straw color is accompanied by beautiful aromas of honeysuckle, tropical fruits, crushed rocks, and subtle smoke. Drink this medium to full-bodied, delicious Chardonnay over the next year.

Exhibits a rich, layered mix of ripe pear, fig, melon and honeysuckle flavors that are intense yet polished, firm and concentrated. The long, lingering finish repeats the fruit themes, with a hint of butterscotch. D

The winery is a partnership of four individuals - Donald Patz, James Hall, Anne Moss and Heather Patz - all of whom are veterans in the production of fine wine. Between them, they have made wine at Flora Springs, Honig Cellars, Far Niente, Marimar Torres, Spring Mountain and Cain Vineyard. They source from regions ranging from the Santa Lucia Highlands to Mendocino, and prime areas in between. The wines skillfully maintain the intricate and graceful dance between substance and balance, power and elegance - the key characteristics of world-class Pinot Noir.
