Reviews For This Wine

International Wine Cellar | 90-92

Good full, bright ruby. Vibrant, slightly high-toned aromas of cassis, licorice and minerals. Juicy, spicy and lively, with mineral and licorice notes dominating dark fruits. Less deep and fat than the 2005 but possesses very good energy; in the style of a Medoc wine. The 2006s took a full year to absorb their oak, noted winemaker Melka.

About This Producer

Charles and Shirley Roy began their life as vintners in 1999 when they moved to Napa from the East Coast. They asked the noted viticulturist Helen Turley to develop their 17-acre Soda Canyon site, and planted it to the Bordeaux varieties Cabernet, Merlot and Petit Verdot. Under the direction of winemaker Philippe Melka, the winery produces a Proprietary Red and Cabernet Sauvignon. Production is small at less than 300 cases for each wine.
