(from biodynamically farmed Sonoma Coast fruit - 190 cases produced and bottled at 14.4%) Lush and notably ripe red pinot fruit that offers up a hint of menthol and leads to rich, sweet and round medium weight flavors underpinned by moderately firm tannins and a touch of finishing warmth. I like the character of the nose though if the wine isn't kept reasonably cool, the warmth affects the balance somewhat.

($50) Bright ruby. Strongly aromatic bouquet offers fresh red berries, cherry, yellow rose and Asian spices. Taut, sharply focused strawberry and raspberry flavors combine energy with depth, gaining sweetness with air. Cool and finely balanced, with wonderful clarity and finishing minerality. This is really elegant.

The 2006 Pinot Noir Terra Neuma exhibited austerity and leanness on the day I tasted it. The wine has a good dark ruby color, some harder tannins, and may just need time to flesh out and exhibit more character.
