International Wine Cellar
Author: Josh Raynolds
Issue: Issue 138
($70) Dark red. Subdued, brooding aromas of dark cherry and chocolate. Fresher red and dark berry flavors are brightened by zesty minerals and given grip by dusty tannins. Finishes with very good persistence but limited definition. A serious, deeply concentrated style of pinot that needs some cellar time to loosen up.

Offering raspberry, cherry, and strawberry notes intermixed with hints of roasted herbs and damp forest, the elegant, medium-bodied 2006 Pinot Noir Hyde Vineyard should drink well for 4-5 years.
Author: James Laube
A bit muddled now, with earthy dried cherry and berry fruit, shaded by herb and sage notes. Gains complexity and depth on the finish.
