(from a .37 ha parcel where 2006 is the first vintage) A wonderfully elegant nose, indeed this could compete on this parameter with any of the preceding wines as the exuberant red pinot fruit aromas are layered and airy though the strong Nuits sense of "dirt" appears on the round, fresh, intense and very minerally flavors that possess terrific punch and persistent with no underlying rusticity. Lovely and recommended.

(just racked; from 45-year-old vines) Medium red. Redcurrant and a suggestion of iron on the nose. Supple, sweet flavors of redcurrant and tobacco. Nothing hard about this Nuits. Finishes with very good aromatic persistence. The Lamarche family rents these old vines, which Marie-Blanche describes as "in a very steep vineyard in bad shape."

Interesting and peppery on the nose. Round and racy and gouleyant. Great succulence and balance.
