The 2005 Schrader Cabernet Sauvignon, which is the estate's flagship wine, is the most backward and tannic of these cuvees. Densely colored, reserved, and restrained, it boasts stunning purity and virtually all of the characteristics of its siblings, just more structure and aging potential. With time, it will catch up to some of the more forward wines, but for now, it needs 4-5 years of cellaring, and should drink well for two decades or more.

Exotic spicy, toasty, cedary oak turns taut, with firm, chewy, loamy earth, currant, anise, sage and mineral flavors that are tightly wound. Finishes with full-bodied tannins that beg for short-term cellaring. 150 cases made.
