(from 50+ year old vines) A trace of residual reduction doesn't really detract from the otherwise bright red and black cherry and earth aromas where the latter element can also be found on the rich, full and ripe flavors that are textured, sweet and firmly structured on the mineral-inflected finish. There is good tension and detail here with outstanding underlying material.

($196) Good deep red-ruby. Musky aromas of dark raspberry, mocha and minerals. Lush, broad and sweet, but with superb acidity and floral and herbal notes from the stem influence giving excellent energy to the mid-palate. Very complex, persistent wine, with firm finishing minerality.

Bright crimson. Scented and very vivacious (see the same attack chez Fourrier). Full and sumptuous on the palate with so much ripe fruit that the extremely fine tannins are almost completely hidden. Long, perfumed, tastes almost like a crème de ?cassis liqueur - that sort of sweet intensity.

The Dujac 2005 Chambolle-Musigny Les Gruenchers displays ripe black cherry and tart rhubarb with oaky overlays of vanilla, coconut and lanolin. In the mouth too, concentrated black cherry and rhubarb are inflected - arguably a bit deflected - by flavors of new wood, but red blood meatiness and attractive inner-mouth florality assert themselves and this displays admirably fine-grained tannins and emerging creaminess, finishing with palate-staining richness of fruit.
