The 2005 Pinot Noir Russian River (2,500 cases) had recently been moved to tank and was awaiting bottling when I tasted it. It is a medium-bodied effort displaying plenty of berry fruit, dried herbs, lavender, spicy oak, and roasted meat characteristics. Savory with good acidity, it is a strong Russian River cuvee to drink over the next decade.

Fresh floral and wild berry scents carry over to the palate, joined by flinty mineral and pebble notes and supported by firm tannins. Ends with an herbal, earthy edge. 2,334 cases made.

Amazing bouquet of dark fruit, black cherry, strawberry, hint of vanilla, following through on palate, well balanced fruit and tannin, amazing with wild boar and cranberry pate. Long finish.

Great wine; enjoyed at Mesa Grill in Las Vegas; truly what a Pinot should be; had 4 other wines and this and the 77 Dow were the big hits.
