The medium to full-bodied, dark ruby/purple-tinged 2005 Cinq Cepages Proprietary Red Wine (83% Cabernet Sauvignon) reveals a certain austerity along with complex notes of roasted herbs, sweet red and black currants, and a dusty, loamy character. It will benefit from another year or so of bottle age, and should keep for 10 years.

Very tight, young wine. Opened up after decanting 2 hours and had good structure. Going to leave in the cellar a few years.

Dark garnet in color, this wine has a nose of black cherry, pipe tobacco, and wet wood. In the mouth it is classically styled, with nice acidity, dark black cherry, tobacco, and espresso flavors that are wrapped in a blanket of powdery tannins.
