Distinctly spicy, with a panoply of dusky, sweet and savory spices that wrap around a tight core of blackberry fruit, veering toward black tea on the finish. It all hangs on a lithe, supple structure that's more elegant than most Syrahs.

We had this with friends on 1/23/10. It decanted for 2 hours and had a fabulous bouquet of smoked meat, anise, licorice, spice, olive, plum, blueberry, wood smoke and tea. The palate was smooth, balanced and well integrated with flavors that followed the nose. It had a velvety, elegant mouthfeel and was absolutely delicious. It was simply stunning!
