More Vintages and Sizes of Beaux Freres - Pinot Noir The Upper Terrace:
International Wine Cellar
Author: Josh Raynolds
Issue: Issue 132
($90) Ruby-red. Dark, musky plum, cherry and blackberry and cola on the nose, with complicating notes of underbrush, dried flowers and licorice. Dried dark berry flavors are braced by zesty minerality and gentle tannins, with an exotic twist of sassafras on the back. Alluringly earthy, floral and sweet on the precise, understated finish.

Has a plush feel, despite its open, velvety texture, offering black cherry, raspberry and subtle spice flavors, finishing with a fleshiness that makes it seductive. More up-front than the Beaux Frères Vineyard bottling, but should hum well for quite a few years. 880 cases made.

Impressive. Just entering the drinking window. Dark cherry nose, red fruit, cola and tea on the palate. This will please the Burgundians.
