($34; like Sussman's La Neblina pinot, this is a blend from multiple sources) Bright medium ruby. Wild, Cornas-like aromas of blueberry, blackberry, violet and mint. Dense, juicy and oak-spicy; sweet but not at all over the top. Black fruit and pepper flavors are underpinned by solid spine. Good honest syrah, aged in once-used barrels. This should develop nicely in bottle.

A blend of a number of western Sonoma County Syrah vineyards, the 2004 Syrah Las Colinas exhibits elegant, meaty, peppery, berry fruit along with hints of black fruits, licorice, smoke, plums, camphor, and earth. Drink this supple-textured 2004 over the next 4-5 years.
